Arrietty (2010) Review

Image
A Studio Ghibli Gem Many of the films that have been released by Studio Ghibli such as Spirited Away and Howls moving Castle, they are regarded as the best films by Studio Ghibli, the film Arrietty is not one of the best, but it's a film that is charming and you will want to watch it again. The first thing that is noticeable and can differ from a lot of the other Ghibli films is the attention to detail in the still animation. The design and attention to detail are beautiful especially when the story takes us outside of the house and into the outdoor/garden areas; I really have to congratulate the animators for this and still goes to show how much drawn animation can still offer in this present day when a lot of other animation depend on CGI, you simply have to admire what Ghibli have been doing for many years. Along with the stunning colours and visuals, is the music that fit's perfectly well with this film, Cecile Corbel's English iteration of Arrietty's the

The Godfather Review

An Over-rated insignificance that shouldn't be dubbed as 'one of the best' I'm not a fan of this type of movies, but since I like Al Pacino having watched 'Donnie Brasco' and hearing so much about this so-called "legendary" Godfather, I decided to give it a try. I must say this is the most inexplicably overrated piece of trash I've ever seen. Judging from this opening statement I know that these film lovers will aggressively spout out and say that I am 100 percent from about the Godfather... BELIEVE ME when I say that it shouldn't be in the same breath as one of the greatest. Don't get me wrong however, there are a few good qualities which in some way does kind of show some good hallmarks for a good film. The tempo right from the start of the film isn't too bad as it does set a nice tone to the film and signifies how the film will play out from start to finish. In some parts the acting of Marlon Brando as the 'Don

The Dark Knight Rises (2012) Review

The Right Ending to a Spectacular trilogy ! When Watching 'The Dark Knight' in 2008, I thought by far this is one of the best superhero films ever made and stayed very true to the Batman law, with the characters and how they developed during the film. Basically the film set a high standard for itself, now comes along the sequel 'The Dark Knight Rises', equally as good as the last film. One of the great things that Christopher Nolan did in this series of films is that he got back a superb cast of Actors. Christian Bale once again delivers with his powerful voice as Batman, Michael Cain also delivered as Alfred the Butler, However I thought the new people that came in, Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Salina Kyle/Catwoman, did very well in their performances. I thought the characters synchronised with each other perfectly and definitely well written. Also to add as well, is that during the film, you could feel the emotion and the hurt which was Hollow which

Liverpool Preview/Prediction - 2014/2015 season

A look Ahead... Liverpool 2014/15 Depending on how I feel, this preview on Liverpool may/may not be the last of the 'A look Ahead' series so don't be alarmed if I don't post at least one more after this one. So Liverpool, what a ten years they have had in terms of success and failure. That statement alone for me anyway, represents Liverpool in this day of age. Sure I know if any Liverpool fans come and read this, they will slate my opinion directly by saying that Liverpool have always been great ever since the 70's. Don't forget that I'm only 19 years of age; the Liverpool that I have been brought up with have yes, been bred with some success ending enough in 2005, but ever since then, it's arguable to state that Liverpool have been a team that have had their ups and downs.  Bye PAC-MAN!!!.. For a Man Utd fan, it is indeed hard to say that Liverpool really should of won the league last season since they were by far the best team that

Chelsea Preview/Prediction - 2014/2015 season

A look Ahead... Chelsea 2014/15 As you guys/girls have probably guessed, the next team we'll be going through in the 'A look Ahead' series will be Chelsea. In the last decade or so, there's no arguing that Chelsea have always been near top of the tree when it comes to Premier League. Under Mourinho and several managers they have employed remarkably, they have always been a team to never underestimate. Their home record of only losing one game in a number of seasons is frankly remarkable and just shows how resilient they have always been. This upcoming season more than any they have taken part in before, they will have to be resilient and on guard when they are playing the best teams. The reasoning behind saying that Chelsea will have to be on guard is simply because of the players that are leaving and coming in to the club and also how the other top teams and strengthening with new players and managers. Last season when Mourinho returned to Chelsea was a

The end of Studio Ghibli?!

STUDIO GHIBLI MAY NO LONGER BE MAKING FEATURE FILMS? Today is sad day... well in terms of the world of Animation that is. Studio Ghibli, the famed Japanese Animation film studio who have created masterpieces such as ' Spirited Away ' and ' My Neighbour Totoro ' are sadly taking a "small break" to reassess the structure of studio. Rumours on Sunday were reporting that the famed animation studio would be indefinitely be closing down and not be making any more feature films. Even though Ghibli are taking a "small break", it's just for me at least amazing how out of no-where they are deciding to not make any more features for a short amount of time. Toshio Suzuki (Studio Ghibli General Manager) stated:   "On what to do with Studio Ghibli's future, it is by no means impossible to keep producing (movies) forever," Suzuki said. "However, we will take a brief pause to consider where to

Arsenal Preview/Prediction - 2014/15 season

A look Ahead... Arsenal 2014/15 So continuing on with the 'A look ahead' series, the next team that I'll be looking at will be indeed.. Arsenal. Now as a Man Utd fan ever since the treble, it's pretty much guaranteed that Arsenal were and somewhat still are rivals of my favoured team. The Arsenal teams around the 2003,2004,2005 era's were the most deadly teams to face in the Premier League. The 'Invisibles' team specifically was the team that stands out the most for really; the likes of Henry, Bergkamp, Viera, Pires were just godly on their day. Although in recent years Arsenal haven't the force they used to be due to fact that they haven't really made any high-profile signings and star players such as Fabregas and Van Persie have gone on to join rival clubs, I believe that this upcoming season we will see a revival of a new dominant Arsenal side. Ozil: A player that certainly needs to strengthen up this season Some of you who are re
