DCEU Going For 'Crazy' Luck? I think it's fair to say that the DC Cinematic Universe up-to now has had a very topsy-turvy ride ever since its inception in 2013 when Zack Snyder took-up the directorial mantle to make Man of Steel . From the lauded reproval of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad  to the acclaim that Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman  feature received due to its boisterous and earnest tone which contrasts DC's overly sombre style, it's clear to see that DC's attempt of rivalling Marvel with their own franchise has had its fair share of frantic moments which haven't particularly played well with those who are passionately affiliated with the likes of Batman, Superman and other DC heroes most notably seen in the televised department. Anthropomorphism for the win?! So we're roughly half-way through the year at this point and already we've had films that were unexpectedly good, and films that were hugely disappointing. For sure, I do think as we enter the Autumn and Winter, the cinematic quality will start to shine and this list, that I'm about to do, will indeed change. Be that as it may, it's still worth looking at films that have come out this year and seeing which, in my own opinion, have delivered in the highest proportions. WHY?!... If I had to choose one aspect that annoyed me when watching any particular film in recent years, it would be how Studios and especially Directors who go out of their own imaginative way, to pursue a film idea that was either a reboot of a somewhat older but popular film that everyone had already enjoyed, or a unnecessary sequel to a film that had already done well on it's own and never in the slightest, needed another story to follow on. Now don't get me wrong, there has been the odd occasion when these reboots or sequels tend to work and pay off like with Peter Jacksons 2005 film of King Kong  (arguably) and with Brian De Palma's Scarface . So continuing on from my last Post about the future and recent history of Disney's animation which I'll leave a link to at the end of this Post, today I'm going to talk about the latest news that came from Disney's D23 convention 2 Fridays ago in Anaheim where chief creative officer for Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, John Lasseter and a rotating panel of film-makers and performers revealed a slate of upcoming animated projects for both Pixar and Disney. Netflix's Unfortunate Events Teaser?!
