Image
Snowball fight anyone?! "The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live." - George Carlin. Hey everyone and welcome back to the Blog and to a special Christmasy Post as we'll be going through good Christmas related films to watch over this festive time. As promised, I'll be going through a range of different Christmas films, which will feature films that you'll recognise and be joyful at, and others that you'll be surprised at to see, If I can put it like that. Like with what I did with my Halloween special which you can check out HERE - http://rabbittevision.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/my-favourite-halloween-films-to-watch.html , it would be much appreciated if you guys can also share with me your favourite Christmas films to watch. It's highly likely that everyone will say the same films, but it would be interesting to see non the less. Anyway, without further delay, lets crack on with Christmas bundle snowball, of

Blog Update #2 - Winter is coming...

So... it's time to say Goodbye!!... for now/Christmas and New Year... "Expectancy is the atmosphere for miracles" (Edwin Louis Cole) . Hey everyone and welcome to yet another Blog Update where I go out of my way of not reviewing a film, and talk more about myself and what's coming up. So to summarise the talking points in this update, I'm firstly going to talk about why I won't be Posting consistently as of now and the reasoning behind this. Then I will talk about Christmas time and the new year and talking about why I love this time of year. Without further delay, let's roll... I bid you farewell... for now A definite watch for Christmas time... So to get the serious issue at hand out of the way, I will in fact not be Posting anything consistently as of now. The next time I may return on a daily basis will in fact be sometime in the middle of January. There are a few reasons why I decided not to Post regularly from now on. The first and

Spider-Man 2 Review

How it's done?! When it comes to the Superhero genre of films in this modern day and age, it's not uncommon to see successful Superhero films spawning sequels since there is such a demand for it to happen and the fact that studios like Marvel, have the financial repertoire to do that. However, the flip-side of having a sequel to a Superhero film can be it's lack of quality and not sticking to the formula that the original production had. For a Superhero sequel to work properly, is to not only have this continuity of entertainment quality that was ever-present in the first film, but it also has to have a niche and innovative story-hook; something that 'expands' the story through the narrative of the film. In the case of Spider-Man 2 , it's a film that not only successfully manages to do this, but it uses this niche plot device in a manner that goes beyond the call of duty. To reiterate from my last review of Spider-Man , the character of Spider-Man/Peter

My favourite Halloween films to watch...

Pick of your Pumpkin... "Tis now the very witching time of night, when churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out contagion to this world." - Shakespeare. All right, hello everyone and welcome to this Halloween special Blog Post that I am about to do. So basically, if you're a vivid reader of my Blog Posts, you'll obviously know that the general Posts that I put out on occasion heavily relate to me reviewing films or in other cases, at least talking about any particular aspect of film. Since it is Halloween today, I thought what better way to 'celebrate' Halloween, then to talk about and go through the films that I either normally watch around Halloween time, or at least films that scare the living soul out of me. What would be even better do than just listing my films, is to hear from YOU and what films you like or scare you the most. It honestly can be any film that you can think of; it doesn't necessarily have to be a film strictly related to

Crimson Peak Review

A sweet, surreal Gothic fable?... When you look across the board of the Gothic-ghoul films that have come and either flopped or graced the silver screen in the past 10 years or so, I don't think any can discredit the work that Guillermo Del Toro has done. While he hasn't shied away from the spotlight with big-budget hits such as Pacific Rim  and the Hellboy films, Del Toro's best works, for a lot of people, have always been the works that fit into that Horror centric ilk like Cronos , The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth ; filmic pieces that have all adopted an archaic but visual appeal that goes into great depth and detail and constructs their own world in an imaginative way. Indeed, Del Toro's latest offering in Crimson Peak  does offer that pristine quality when it comes to the production design and the visual imagery, but you can't help but question the narrative structure at times since it does tend to fragment itself with unnecessary cuts

Casino Royale (2006) Review

A Royale without cheese?... Over the many years of narrative film history, there is no denying that the fictional characters who have been portrayed by some of the best actors to have existed, have been equally as important in making up a film as a Director constructed their own work. While there may be others who favour other fictional characters to go on their own list such as Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver  to The Joker from The Dark Knight  and Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean  etc, I think I can speak for everyone in that the characters for my money are an integral part to a films success and recognition. One fictional character that I would imagine would be on their top list of characters is surely James Bond since the character and the array of films bring a lot of cinematic quality to the audiences' with the tense espionage tales that have glamorous ladies, cheesy villains and classy cars interwoven within it. What I think makes James Bond stand-out from a
