E3 2015 Roundup

Image
Smiles all around... Since it's evident to all you lovely lot that I haven't posted anything gaming related in a while, what better way to talk about gaming related stuff again then to talk about this years E3 event which arguably for some gamers, is possibly the best Electronic Entertainment Expo since it introduced games that looked agonisingly cool, features to consoles that people have been wanting and things for the near future that could either revolutionise the gaming industry or miserably flop along with the other failures like the Kinect and PS Move. As for me, there were a few interesting things that caught my eye over the many press conferences that were held which in this very Blog Post, I'll be discussing and giving my thoughts on each of the things that I enjoyed seeing. Just to preference this Blog before I get down to the main talking points, most of what I'll be talking about will be from what Sony introduced in their conference. In no way shape

Lemony Snicket's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' coming to Netflix Reaction

Image
It's back?! It's been over 10 years since the film version of Lemony Snicket's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' was released and to be fair, I don't think anyone expected it to ever return... until now. Yes that's right, Netflix has secured the rights to the young adult series which will be a live-action series to take centre stage in the year of 2016. So far, there hasn't been any news in relation to who'll be directing and cast into the series. However, one thing is for sure is that if it is being released next year, then it's more than likely that the cast members will soon be revealed as I think it's fair to say that already, there is a strong and exciting following behind this project. Of course, Netflix who now have the rights to make this story come to life once again, are the ones that are going to produce the show, which is being fast tracked with Paramount Television. Paramount was originally behind the 2004 film starring Ji

Terminator 2 Review

How a good Sci-Fi/Action sequel is done Due to the fact that the newest installment of the 'Terminator' films is coming out very soon in the cinemas, I thought it would be a good opportunity to review an old favourite of mine that I watched growing up and to this day, still rate it as one of the best action film ever to grace the silver screen. That film as you can already tell from the very much 80's poster up-top, is of course Terminator 2 ; the big-bad wolf of sequels that silences the feeble sequels that plead for their efforts. I might be going a bit overboard, but you can't deny, Terminator 2 is one of the top dogs when it comes to sequels. Simply, what makes a good sequel work is basically stick to the same formula the original film had, but at the same time, add aspects that are new and blend in well with the progressing narrative. With this 2nd installment, it showcases this perfectly as it not only re-introduces the old characters of Sarah Connor (Lind

Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door Review

Just your ordinary kick-ass Anime film ma'am... When you look at 'Animation' as a whole in this present day, it is highly arguable to state that the overall market for animation, is particularly advertized and monopolized by family members. In no way shape or form am I saying that this is a hindrance, in fact if you think about it's a good thing. But the point that I'm trying to convey to you is that across the whole span of 'animation', you don't really see high-productions animations that strictly appeal to the adult audience and get critical acclaim. Sure you do have a couple of the Disney/Pixar animations that have their moments in their films where it speaks to the more mature audience. However, for me at least, there really isn't an animated film that I have seen in recent years that focused all their attention on the mature demographic. One anime film where I think it not only is successful in appealing to the wide spectrum of the matur

500 Days of Summer Review

Image
Summer Lovin' For me, when it comes to watching films in general, Romantic-Comedies are films that I don't necessarily watch. Admittedly, the reasons behind my distaste behind them is that generally, all of them are a copy of each other and the narrative of each one of them is pretty much predictable. We all know that at least 8/10 attempts we watch a new Rom-Com, we're obviously going to get an ending that unfolds with the good-looking quirky gentleman getting the 'princess' love of her dreams which hall-mark back to old fairy-tales. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate all Rom-Coms. I do like When Harry Met Sally  and  Annie Hall  which both have their own original tools that make themselves combat against the more obviously predictable Romantic stories. For me at least, those Romances that have their own structure and style are Rom-Coms that I can enjoy since they don't fall into a pit of obviousness and with 500 Days of Summer , thankfully it fit

Cowboy Bebop Review

What you get if you mix Star Wars and Tarantino together.. I think it's fair to say that throughout 'Anime' history, there really hasn't been an 'Anime' show that has offered up a unique concept in terms of implementing an original style that is near to perfect other than Cowboy bebop . It's truly amazing and cool that Cowboy Bebop , an anime that was released a fair while ago, is still being praised by anime lovers and is in some regard, an inspiration to a lot of mediocre anime shows in this present day. What is even more impressive however, is with all of it's cool aspects in place such as it's soundtrack which mostly consists of retro 'Blues' music, references famous songs in their episode names, ingratiating an interesting array of characters with the shows mixture of Drama and wacky-comedy, it''s no surprise really to let you know that this show was and still is received better to Western audiences rather than the Ea
