The best film endings... Whether it's a character that walks/rides into the distance, going back into society/continuing their journey, or a character that simply 'closes' the door, film endings are as equally if not the most important part of the film in emphasising not only meaning to the characters we see on display, but also themes that give us the definitive finale; either in a eerie or positive nature. Granted, the majority of films that are out their at the moment, and even in the past years, don't necessarily have the best endings, that's just my opinion. Despite this however, there's no denying that that best endings makes us want to watch more of cinema's past. Using my own personal experience as an example, a common trope of Christopher Nolan's film endings, always leaves us questioning the stories outcome and being ambiguous. X-Tinction... If any of you remember back to my past review of X2 , you would remember me saying how one of the hardest jobs for a director to do when it comes to constructing a sequel, is maintaining a consistency of quality from the first film into the sequel whilst adding something new that either works with the overall plot or the characters involved. X2 , directed by Bryan Singer, was a film that did this in the simplest form; by flourishing out the X-Men comic/thematic themes of individualism and discrimination into greater depth and improving on the development of the characters, with each character sharing the spotlight with their little story arcs in a consistent form. It was a film that even ended with a nice teaser for a potential sequel, hinting at the possibility of the 'Dark Phoenix' plot line from the original X-Men comic stories. Finishing Uni/Movement... So... it's been a while hasn't it!! Well, from now on, I'm back for good... well sought of. Hey everyone and how's it going? So basically before going back into reviewing films and talking about film related news etc., I think it's best if I come back to you all with a little bit of an update since I've been a way for a while and there are many things I would like to talk/catch up on. I'll firstly be talking/reflecting about University and how I've basically finished my time there. Then, I'll be talking about the Blog itself and how there are many posts and big changes to expect. Anywho, without further delay, lets roll on... Onwards and upwards: Leaving Uni As many of you will know by now, the reason into why you all haven't seen a Blog Post since late March, is down to the fact that I wanted to focus all my efforts into the final weeks and days of University and finish off a dissertation task that was in
