Pokemon Origins Review

What everyone wanted in the first place...  WATCH - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lw7qHqm2t6U It's weird to think that in this present day that Pokemon, A Nintendo prized gaming Gem and a popular kids animated T.V series is very much still around and is still popular. If you don't know, I am 20 years old, so pretty much I was one of those kids that was seriously into Pokemon when it started out; I played the games and even though looking back now it was bad, the T.V show was just one of those things I watched. Now admittedly, I never properly played the Red or Blue versions of Pokemon when they were first released due to the fact that my older brothers luckily got the chance to own them.I remember specifically the day my older brother got Pokemon Red and the rest of us would just watch him play it closely. I know it sounds a bit weird, but in a way, that's what Pokemon did to a lot of kids at the time I guess, it was something that was simp...

The Film Awards Review - The Snubs

Image
'Everything is Awkward!' Before this year’s Oscars and even to some extent, the BAFTA nominations were even announced, the array of films was thought to be so predictable that news stories could have been drafted the week before with a quiet snooze before publishing. Typically, when it comes to the awards season however, it is usually the norm to see films that have been recently released and have earned high appraisals by numerous critics, to go head-to-head with one another whether it’s for the big accolades such as Best film, Best leading male role or for the minor prizes like Best cinematography or Best Original Screenplay. In what is being dubbed ‘the whitest year’ however, the Oscar 2015 nominations/winners saw a number of surprising snubs including the likes of David Oyelowo’s acting role and Ava DuVernay’s direction of Selma which understandably was a film that was touted to be nominated for various amount of awards due to the fact that it’s narrative focuses...

Big Hero 6 Review

Image
A perfect example of a Super-Hero film filled with visual beauty There's no question that ever since Marvel was bought from Disney back in 2009, we would undoubtedly see an animation that was inspired by a Marvel comic/story. A lot of people including my-self, were pondering and hesitant over whether Disney would just animate a character/storyline that we had previously seen on the big screen like Iron-man, Captain America etc. Thankfully, Disney through the success and inspiration from other Animations in recent years such as Tangled and Frozen , have come up with a piece of art that although is an adaptation, it's a piece that funnily enough feels very original with it's beautiful in-depth animation and likeable characters. Big Hero 6  in this modern day and age, manages to champion most superhero films that falter in performance but do well when it comes to the box-office. The film is set in the beautifully detailed city of San Fransokyo, a so...

Kingsman: The Secret Service Review

Image
When 007 meets Kick-Ass Having already made the films of X-Men: First Class , Kick-Ass , Stardust and Layer Cake , Writer/Director and Producer Michael Vaughn in recent years has established himself as one of the most exciting film-makers in the industry. With turning down the chance to direct X-Men: Days of Future Past , Vaughn instead opted to direct Kingsman: The Secret Service ; a film that not only marks to be the third film in a row that Vaughn has adapted from a comic book background, but merges the James Bond espionage construct with the outlandish fighting ilk that Kick-Ass specifically branded to create something that is original, comedic and entertaining. Loosely based on the comic by Mark Miller (who also created Kick-Ass), the film centres around a young ruffian named Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin (Taron Egerton) who is taken under the wing of Harry Hart/Galahad (Colin Firth), a Kingsman spy for an unknown British Secret Service. With the aid of Arthur (Michael Caine...

Heroes Reborn - My opinions

Image
Is it a good idea? It's not often that we would see a reboot in television these days considering the fact that arguably we are living in an age where T.V and more specifically Internet streaming sites such as Netflix are pretty much dominating the world of entertainment by releasing for once, content that is both original and adapted content which people want to see on their little screens. Now 5 years on from it's proposed last and 4th season, 'Heroes', the cult show that started in 2006, will be coming back later on this year which as you can see from the picture above, will be called 'Heroes Reborn'. NBC roughly a year ago announced that Heroes Reborn will in fact be a mini-series which consists of 13 episodes and would reconnect with the basic elements of the show's first season in which ordinary people discovered that they had special abilities. The announcement of this reboot is certainly an interesting mixed package. While the show did overa...

Chelsea 2014/2015 half-time

Image
The season so far... Chelsea 2014/2015 So similar to what I have done with Man Utd where I talked about how they have done so far and where they'll end up in the season of 2014/2015, I will indeed in this post do the very same for Chelsea in terms of how they have done so far and where they'll end up this season. Besides this I will be talking about the potential signings they could make and players they could release as well as what their best formation is. The Campaign so far.. Not much to say really other than that they have been the team to beat this season and it's more than likely that they'll win the league this season. I think even before the season started, everyone rightly so guessed that Chelsea were going to be dominant this season and they have been. Their recruitment over past summer after the world cup just showed that with the likes of bringing one of the best keepers back to their club in Courtois and also bargaining on a bully of a striker...

Ex Machina Review

Image
Garlands Début delight  It's not often we would in this present day we would go to the cinema's and watch a film that is essentially a directorial debut. Having written the stories to some of the biggest cult hits, first time director Alex Garland has spent a lot of time with the stylistic Danny Boyle; working on such films as The Beach , 28 Days Later , Sunshine and Kazuo Ishiguro's book adaptation Never Let Me Go . Now, writing and directing his feature debut, Garland proves that he has been paying attention and taking tips to the films he has been involved with as he tackles a sci-fi thriller aspect that has been seen in various different way's in the past - Artificial Intelligence. Featuring Domnhall Gleeson and Oscar Isaac who are both set to star in the new and upcoming Star Wars and Alicia Vikander who herself has 3 films released this month; Ex Machina is quite grand in both the performances of the actors and the Style that Garland has gone for. ...
